Frequently asked Questions
.....I don't know what some of these songs sound like. Where can I hear them?
A. It's easy! If you would like to hear any of the above music, most can be found by logging on to YouTube and putting in a search. Anything you are unable to locate I will sing for you!
.....I’m not really sure what I want? Can you help me with the choices?
A.
Yes! We can talk on the phone or meet in person if you wish to discuss
the different types of music, instrumentals, instruments to be used,
songs, hymns, possible guests and the general spirit of the ceremony.
Some couples like to keep it strictly religious while others like to mix
in some secular and contemporary choices. Some like to sing the
responses and other prefer the less busy ceremony. You could have just
organ, just guitar or organ and guitar combined for some of the pieces.
You can also have a balance between vocals and instrumental depending
on what’s happening etc the offertory is usually sung and the candle
ceremony is generally instrumental.
.....How will I pay the balance on the day?
A.
After the ceremony is finished the bride and groom are generally busy
greeting their guests or having photographs taken so my advice is to
give the best man the job of paying the musicians before the
ceremony.
.....I want to include a song that is not on your list. Is that OK?
A.
Yes! If you would like a personal choice to be included let me know as
soon as you can and we can go off and research/learn it.
.......I have a cousin/aunt/friend etc who sings. Can I have them sing a song during the ceremony and can you accompany them?
A. Guest
singers/musicians are always welcome. They may perform at
whatever time you desire but usually the most suitable point of the ceremony
for guest performers is the Psalm, Offertory, Communion or
Signing. Guest performers are free to contact us to discuss accompaniment and key choice.
